Rizvi was born in Dubai and then raised in England and Nigeria. As a teenager, she came to Pakistan and launched her career in Karachi where she was also a student. She started her career at age 16 when her talent was spotted by a family friend of her brother Hasan Rizvi, who is a dancer and an entrepreneur and also performed with Komal at various fashion events. She released her first song in 1999 which went on to become the super hit bhangra song “Bauji bauji bhangra saaday naal paoji”. She became an overnight sensation. She often writes the lyrics of her own songs. Komal Rizvi is a well known actress, television show host, singer and songwriter from Pakistan. She is well known for her appearances and songs presented in the famous Coke Studio. She was born on the 3rd of August in the year 1981 in the capital city of Karachi in Pakistan. She is popular for her music and she mainly produces songs in certain genres such as Contemporary, Pop and Bhangra music. She found fame and recognition at a very young age. When she was just 16 years old, Komal’s relative in her family had witnessed her musical capabilities. Her whole family and friends had encouraged her to pursue her true talent. She released her own music album with her own song and had become one of the best-selling songs in that time. She was then asked to host a television show known as BPL Oye and later appeared in a few television serials on Pakistani television. Some of the well known shows that she has hosted for are Channel V India’s celebrity interview show where she was on the front line interviewing some prominent people and popular celebrities in the industry. Other than that she also hosted many Pakistani TV shows such as Nachley, the reality dance show, Mornings with Komal, and Karachi Nights with Komal. She is the famous voice of the song, ‘Danah Pe Danah’ written by Akhtar Chanal Zahri. She performed it in the third season of the famous Coke Studio along with Zahri himself.
