Now, there is a saying that goes something like: “Don’t know equals no love.” So, before we start our dive into the members and facts, let’s get to know the group first! Starting out as a four-member group, boy band MASC (Korean: 마스크) debuted on August 19th, 2016, under J Planet Entertainment. Originally, the band debuted with members Woosoo, 26, ACE, and Heejae with the release of the mini-album Strange (2016). After that, they began to release photo teasers for their next comeback on January 20th, 2017, followed by their first single titled “Tina” that was officially released on February 4th, 2017. Then in September the same year, MASC announced that they will be making a comeback as an 8-member group. The group’s extension to 8 members was due to the addition of 4 new members: Doeun, Ireah, Moonbong, and Chibin. After releasing each of the 8 members’ teaser images and teaser videos, they finally made a comeback by releasing their second single “Do It” which was officially launched on October 12th, 2017. Unfortunately, the 8-members formation didn’t last long. In late July 2018, members ACE and Chibin left the group due to physical assault controversies involving the two members. Soon after, member 26 also left the group to build and pursue his career in the film industry, and Doeun left due to personal reasons.
