Background of “Moving On”
“Moving On” by BTS was planned to be released on April 29, 2015, by Big Hit Entertainment as one of the tracks on BTS’ 3rd extended play called The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1. This song is set as the eighth track alongside the other 8 tracks on the EP. Two weeks before “Moving On” by BTS was officially released to the public, BTS announced their comeback date on April 6, 2015, and all of the members of BTS took part in the album as songwriters. This song is one of the songs that is written by them. Later, Big Hit Entertainment revealed the tracklist of the EP that includes “Moving On” as the eighth track on April 26, 2015, as well as the preview of this song alongside the other 8 tracks that were uploaded through Big Hit Entertainment’s official YouTube account. Then, 3 years after “Moving On” by BTS was officially released for the digital download and physical version, Big Hit Entertainment uploaded the full audio version of this song on BANGTANTV’s official YouTube account on January 3, 2018. As of now, the video of this song has gained 1,627,848 views and 64,108 likes on YouTube. Story of “Moving On”
The title of this song, “Moving On,” really represents the story and the meaning of the lyrics that BTS’ members wanted to convey to people out there about their feelings when they were moving on from their first dorm where they were living together and their trainee life to another place. Through this song, they express everything they have felt during their stay in that place. The various things they went through together there, feelings of joy, and sadness were mixed into one while they remembered the memories they have. Even though there is a sense of unwillingness that makes it difficult for them to get through and convince themselves to leave the place, in the end, there will be a farewell in every meeting. And, this separation is also to pursue a better future and things for them later. Therefore, even though it is hard, they are determined to move on and keep those memories while making new ones that will be waiting for them somewhere else. As said before, all of BTS’ members took part in writing the lyrics in the album. For “Moving On,” RM, Suga, and J-Hope were the members that took part as songwriters alongside Pdogg who was also the one who produced the song. The length of this song is 4:52.
