In the documentary Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency, Kemp revealed that he came close to attempting suicide after battling with depression for 13 years. Roman Kemp is a 28-year-old TV and radio presenter, who hosts Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp He wakes up 3.7 million listeners across the UK every week and can be heard weekday mornings from 6-10am and has recently made a documentary looking into men’s mental health, called Our Silent Emergency. Alongside his work at Capital, Roman is known for appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his dad Martin Kemp and for finishing as a runner-up in 2019’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Roman has been a Capital presenter since 2014. Before presenting the flagship Capital Breakfast show with Sian Welby and Sonny Jay, he hosted The Capital Evening Show for a number of years. He was previously in a long-term relationship with ex-girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury and talked about Sophie during his time in the jungle. The couple were together for almost three years. Roman has an array of tattoos, including an anchor and a large eagle across his torso, but he also has some tattoos thanks to his celebrity pals Ed Sheeran and Niall Horan. In 2017, Ed Sheeran badly tattooed “Ed woz ‘ere 2k7” on Roman’s leg live on air for Global’s charity Make Some Noise. Last year, One Direction singer Niall tattooed “Nice to melt ya” on Roman’s foot as he attempted to write the name of his new single, ‘Nice To Meet Ya’. Niall generously donated £5000 to Make Some Noise afterwards! Roman also has a tattoo in honour of his best friend Joe Lyons, the producer of Capital Breakfast who sadly died in August this year.
